Welcome to Earth Science! During the 2018-2019 school year at Williamsburg Prep. I hope you instill in you a desire to learn about the Earth and all the amazing lessons it has to teach. I hope to create a passion and a curiosity about the world around you. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns throughout the year!
About Me
I came into Earth Science in a somewhat backwards way, however my first word was "rock", so I should have known. I have a B.A. in History and a M.A. in Public History concentrating in Holocaust Studies from the University of Wisconsin. I began working in natural history museums in the education department focusing on informal education. Everything I taught was hands-on, real life experiences using artifacts from the museum. I was an educator at museums all over the U.S.; Wisconsin, Texas, and New York.
After careful consideration, I moved into formal education and wanted to transfer my passion for hands-on, creative learning to a high school setting. I decided to move to New York to pursue a science degree. I have a M.S. in Earth Science from CUNY Lehman.
On the weekends I like reading, listening to podcasts, bike riding, walking around the neighborhood, and hanging out with my adorable dog, Belle. Ask me about her and I won't stop talking :)
